Planning, Research, and Institutional Effectiveness

Welcome to the Office of Planning, Research, and Institutional Effectiveness

Established in February of 2016 as the Office of Institutional Effectiveness; as of July of 2018, the department is now the Office of Planning, Research, and Institutional Effectiveness, The purpose of the Planning, Research, and Institutional Effectiveness office at San Diego Continuing Education (SDCE) is to provide leadership in developing a comprehensive, integrated program of planning, assessment and institutional research that assists SDCE in achieving its mission and goals.

What We Do

  • Facilitate improvements in student learning, student services, and administrative processes
  • Coordination and oversight of the accreditation process and related activities
  • Data coaching and training to build a culture of data-informed decision making
  • Support for the integrated planning process and resource allocation structure
  • Oversight of Institutional Professional Development
  • System support and training for the Campus Labs database and user platforms
  • Communicate institutional and educational effectiveness efforts to internal and external audiences
  • We are members of the Research and Planning (RP) Group for the California Community Colleges, and our work is guided by the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) Code of Ethics and Professional Practices and the American Evaluation Association Guiding Principles for Evaluators.
