Dear Colleagues,

This week, SDCE's Classified Senate hosted a virtual meeting with SDCE's Mental Health Outreach Coordinator, who presented Mindful Meditation and Self-Care. SDCE College and Career Transition Centers (CCTC) coordinated with the YMCA for SDCE students to participate in a focus group to receive input about a new program being developed for youth and community. CCTC also supported the Paving Great Futures 2020 virtual fundraising event.

SDCE Outreach participated in a Districtwide Outreach virtual K-12 SDUSD Educator and Community Partners conference. SDUSD counselors received information about SDCE free career training programs and other free classes. The San Diego Adult Education Regional Consortium committee held its final meeting of the year to discuss annual planning updates and strategies for 2021.

In continuation of SDCE’s commitment to social justice and inclusion, SDCE and Common Ground Theater invited the SDCE community to attend a virtual production titled “Uplifting Black Voices” in partnership with the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation.

Lastly, earlier this week I shared SDCE's Holiday Greeting video and as the final update for 2020, I wish you the very best for this holiday season and encourage relaxation during the much-anticipated break.

Have a wonderful holiday season and please stay safe. And finally, good riddance 2020. May 2021 allow us to work alongside one another in person again.
