Programming with Python

The Programming with Python certificate is a series of 3 courses that begins with an introduction to Python programming language for students without prior programming experience. The Programming with Python I and II classes will cover the spectrum of introductory Python programming topics, including the essentials of the language, control statements, functions and modules, and working with strings, numbers, dates, and times. The second program introduces more advanced Python concepts including data structuring techniques, object-oriented programming concepts, and exception handling.

Students will be able to use this knowledge for entry-level positions in such fields as data science, embedded programming, game development, software development, automation, cybersecurity penetration development, and more.

The 3rd course, Programming Databases – Python, further enhances the knowledge and use of the Python language. Students learn to configure drivers, create a database, use the Structured Query Language (SQL), code in Python to retrieve data from and update a database and use an Object Relational Mapping (ORM) language to simplify coding. Students will be able to use this knowledge to land mid-level positions in such fields as data science, embedded programming, data analytics, and more.
