Mesa College alumna Annette Bening

San Diego Continuing Education’s (SDCE) President Carlos O. Turner Cortez, Ph.D. attends 'An Evening with Annette Bening'. The Benefit for the San Diego Promise was held on September 20, 2018 at the San Diego Natural History Museum and raised over $200,000 to support the San Diego Community College District's (SDCCD) free community college program.

Bening attended Mesa College in the late 1970s before transferring to San Francisco State University where she earned a degree in theater arts.

In addition to Bening and SDCCD Chancellor Constance Carroll, featured speakers included San Diego Promise student John Warner who shared his story about how the San Diego Promise has enabled him to attend college. Warner is a former SDCE student and is now attending Miramar College.
