Kathy Hornik is an instructor who teaches an Introduction to Computers class for students with disabilities for the Disability Support Programs and Services (DSPS) program. In addition to teaching, she is also the Access Technology Specialist for DSPS, where she specializes in adaptive computer software, student ergonomic issues and software training.

Kathy is a graduate of the San Diego Community College District, where she received her Associate of Arts degree in Psychology from Miramar College. She continued her education and received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from San Diego State University, and has received her certification in Assistive Technology from California State University Northridge.

Kathy has enjoyed serving students with disabilities in San Diego since 1994, but the highlight of her career is teaching students how to operate and navigate on computers. Kathy teaches with an abundance of patience and a keen sensitivity to and knowledge of the diverse needs of her students.
